Building resilient communities with access to practical climate solutions.

A corporate foundation connecting community priorities with the partnerships, knowledge and resources needed to turn practical ideas into lasting impact.

ABOUT OEF

Optimum Earth Foundation (OEF) is a corporate foundation; a not-for-profit initiative focused on practical solutions that expand access to clean water, clean energy and climate solutions while strengthening community resilience. OEF connects community priorities with the partnerships, knowledge and resources needed to turn practical ideas into lasting impact.

OEF was established as the not-for-profit arm of Optimum Earth Limited, building on the company's experience in energy, water and environmental infrastructure across East and Southern Africa. The Foundation operates as a distinct not-for-profit entity with its own governance, strategy and financing.

How We Work

Community-led

We start with the lived realities, priorities and capabilities of the communities and local actors we work with, not with pre-set solutions.

Evidence-informed

We draw on evidence, local knowledge and continuous learning to shape our decisions and improve our approach.

Partnership-driven

We bring together communities, philanthropy, public institutions, private capital and technical actors around a shared goal.

Practical and scalable

We focus on solutions that work in real settings, and that we can adapt or expand responsibly as they prove out.

Locally grounded

We prioritise African leadership, local ownership and context-specific solutions in everything we do.

Learning-oriented

We document what works and what doesn't, so our learning contributes to wider practice across the region.
